Yven Help

Work & invoicing

The fastest way to lose money as a solo web shop is to forget the small jobs. Yven makes logging work quick enough that you actually do it – then turns that work into invoices without re-typing anything.

Logging work

Press w anywhere in the app to open the Log work dialog. Pick a client (and, if you like, a site and project), tap a minute chip or type the minutes, write a one-line summary, and save. You can mark each entry billable and client-visible, and back-date it to when the work actually happened. → More on logging work.

Projects

Work can be ad-hoc or tied to a project. Projects are either hourly (billed at a rate) or fixed-fee (a set price). They’re a simple way to group related work and to bill a milestone. → More on projects.

The work ledger

The work ledger lists every entry with filters for client, project, status, billable, and date. You can edit entries inline, and select several at once to write off, mark plan-included, toggle visibility, or assign to a project in bulk.

Building an invoice

When it’s time to bill, the invoice composer lets you pick a client and period. It lists that period’s open billable work, checked by default; add fixed-fee project lines or manual lines, and create the draft. Creating an invoice marks the included work as invoiced, so it can’t be billed twice. → More on building an invoice.

Built-in or external

Yven has its own invoicer (print or save a clean PDF, mark sent, mark paid). If you connect QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks, drafts push to your provider instead – with a clear retry path if a push ever fails. → More on external invoicing.

The Money screen

The Money screen ties it together: what’s unbilled, what you’re owed, what recurs, and a Needs-invoice list that starts a bill in one click. → More on the Money screen.
