The onboarding wizard
The first time you sign in, Yven runs a short wizard so the app behaves the way your shop works from day one. It’s three or four steps depending on your setup, and nothing in it is permanent – every choice can be changed later in Settings.
Step 1 – Your defaults
Set your business name, currency, timezone, default hourly rate, default markup %, invoice prefix, up to two tax labels/rates, and how many days ahead the renewal digest warns you. Everything here has a sensible default – fill in what you know now and adjust the rest later from Settings.
Step 2 – Your clients
Choose how to bring your book in:
- Import a spreadsheet – jumps to the CSV import so you can land your whole book in one go.
- Add your first client – a short guided flow: contact info, then (optionally) their first site, then (optionally) their first services. Only a contact name is required – skip the rest and fill it in later from the registry.
- Skip for now – add clients by hand whenever you’re ready.
Step 3 – Invoicing (only if QuickBooks or FreshBooks is available)
If QuickBooks Online or FreshBooks is available on your account, this step lets you connect one – or stick with Yven’s built-in invoicer. This step doesn’t appear at all if neither integration is available; you’re already on built-in invoicing by default. You can connect a provider at any time from Settings – see external invoicing.
Finishing up
The last screen points out the essentials: press w anywhere to log work, / anywhere to search, that Renewals is already watching your dates, and where to find the help centre. Clicking Go to Today marks onboarding done and drops you on the Today screen.
Want to walk through it again, or didn’t finish the first time? Re-launch the wizard any time from Settings → Integrations.
Where to next
- Import your client book from a spreadsheet.
- Set your default rate, taxes, and currency in Settings.
