Sites
A site is a website or digital property you look after for a client. Sites give the rest of the registry something concrete to attach to, and they’re where you keep the “how is this thing built” details you reach for when something breaks.
What a site records
- Name – a short label for the property.
- Primary URL – the live address.
- Platform – WordPress, Shopify, a custom build, and so on.
- Status – Live, Staging, or Retired.
Reference links
Four optional links live on the site so they’re always where you’d look for them:
- Style guide URL – the brand or design reference.
- Documentation URL – runbooks, build notes, or a handover doc.
- Repository – a clone URL or
org/reposlug for the codebase. - Contract URL – a link to the signed contract for this site.
(These used to be tracked as separate “assets”; they belong with the site, so that’s where they are.)
Sites vs. services
Keep the distinction simple: a site is the thing you tend; a service is something with a cost or a renewal behind it – the domain, the hosting, the SSL certificate, the plugin licence. A single site usually has several services attached across different providers.
Where to next
- Attach the services that keep the site running.
- Add fonts and brand assets that carry a licence.
